Course objectives

This Programme in Tourism & Business Studies has been designed to provide participants with an understanding of the global structure of the industry and its component parts, and the business skills that are necessary for sustainable tourism development.

Key skills & knowledge gained

An understanding of business structures and systems, an understanding of the workings of Travel Agents, Travel Shops, Tour Operators, Tourism Authorities, Tourist Information Centres, Car Hire Operators, Hotel Groups and other tourism related commercial operations, a study of management practices in the hospitality and tourism sectors.

Qualifications gained

On successful completion of all the examinations in the first academic year students are awarded the ICM Certificate in Travel and Tourism, and on successful completion of all the examinations in first and second year students are awarded the ICM Diploma in Tourism and Business.
